Sure,
we could have rented a Escalade or a stretched H2 from
one of those awesome limo companies out of Philadelphia... but that wouldn't
be very Lancaster, now would it?!? So, in keeping with the spirit of our
wedding, and because Stacy is stark raving nuts, "we"
decided to be shuttled from the church, to have our pictures taken, and
then to the reception, by none other than, The Red Rose Trolley!
Now, when you hear the
word "trolley" you may think of San Francisco... and since we
had a wonderful time in the city by the bay several years ago, that might
seem appropriate... but in Lancaster, the word "trolley," conjures
images the rolling monstrosity pictured above! And, so you're probably
thinking to yourself, "Self... there is obviously some sort of historical
significance to the trolley that we are about to be schooled on right
now."
Nope. There's absolutely
no historic relevance that we know of... as far as we can tell, it's simply
a bus, shaped like a trolley! Yeah! That's it!
One interesting "Trolley"
story... at one stop for pictures, there was another couple there taking
pictures. So there we were, two dorky wedding parties, their photographers,
a nice stretched limo, and our gigantic trolley. At one point, we swear
that the other bride looked over at our trolley, and then turned to her
new husband in disgust over the fact that they had a lame, old, limo,
and WE had a trolley! Then again, they may have been laughing at us...
we're not sure.
